Katerina Zirogiannis

Katerina graduated from the 4 year Exercise Science and Rehabilitation bachelor’s degree at the University of Wollongong with 1st class honors in 2004. Katerina has been working within the musculoskeletal rehabilitation and chronic pain management field over the past 15 years providing work conditioning and exercise rehabilitation for Work Cover, CTP and private clients. Katerina was previously employed at the University of Wollongong’s Exercise Science & Rehabilitation Centre (2005-2009) and moved into private practice following the centres closure in 2009 establishing Wollongong based community clinic, Rehabilitation in Motion. Katerina has a special interest in working with clients with persisting pain and musculoskeletal injuries assisting clients return to meaningful activities and providing education and practical tools to self-manage injuries and pain.

Katerina is also interested in the management of chronic fatigue syndrome, fibromyalgia and cancer related fatigue, rehabilitation post-surgery, promoting health behavior change specific to chronic disease and running group based manual handling training for organisations promoting injury prevention.

Katerina was awarded the Exercise and Sports Science Australia (ESSA) Professional Practice award for outcomes in exercise rehabilitation programs for individuals with subacute and chronic lower back pain in 2008. Katerina is Work Cover, Medicare, Healthfund and DVA accredited.
